Let’s talk about something regarding the new Wonder Woman television series shall we? Good. It’s something that is driving me to twitch because I’m seeing it ALL OVER MY DASH!
THIS is Adrianne Palicki, the new Wonder Woman.
THIS, is NOT Adrianne Palicki. THIS is her stunt woman, who’s name I have yet to be able to find listed anywhere.
Yes, I know they did a pretty good job hiring a stunt woman that looks enough like the actress to work for stunts, but THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT THE SAME PERSON! PLEASE STOP USING THE PHOTOS OF THE STUNT WOMAN WHEN YOUR POINT IS SOMETHING ABOUT THE ACTRESS AND STOP TAGGING THE STUNT PHOTOS AS ADRIANNE PALICKI! SERIOUSLY, YOU’RE MAKING ME CRAZY HERE!
As a side note, hey IMDB, why in the world do you have THREE different MALE stunt performs already listed in the cast and crew section and yet NOT THE ACTUAL STUNT PERFORMER FOR THE TITLE ROLE?!?! Also articles keep refering to her simply as “stunt double” while they NAME the stuntMEN who are in scene as random bad guys?! That shit ain’t right.
I want to know who the stunt woman actually is, so if you have her name please let me know!
A source on Tuesday told The Dispatch that the Blue Jackets — fed up with losing and frustrated by yet another season out of the playoffs — are planning to take a hard look at all aspects of the organization this off-season. Majority owner John P. McConnell confirmed as much to the Dispatch today, and we’ll have a story in Thursday’s editions of the newspaper. Enjoy. Please.
If you mean Scott Howson, I think I agree. If, however, you mean Scott Arniel I think that would be the dumbest move in the history of ever.
This is a Public Service Announcement for everyone I know in or around the Chicago area as well as cosplayers who have ever had their photos on the internet. Please BOYCOTT (do not but from or patronize in any way) Alternate Reality-Comicbooks. 3149 West 111th Street - Chicago, Il, 60655 -
Just by way of answering this question and updating: The albums and photos in question are not gone, in fact, they have apparently added yet more photos. The profile/albums have only been made “friends only”.
At this point, even if they were to now stop and delete the photos, this call for a Boycott would still be ongoing because the proprietor has, in my opinion, proved himself to be a person undeserving of receiving monies or support from this community.
Also, this is not really about post/using the photos as much as it is about HOW they were used. Which in this case was for no other reason than to be mean and nasty and to ridicule. It bad enough coming from some “random 14 year old on the internets”, but to see it being done by a “business person” of whom cosplayers are the actual costumers? It’s just far too much.
Thank you very much to everyone who has join with “us” so far on this matter.

It has come to my attention that not only does this “business” operate a “Win or Fail” Cosplay album on their Facebook page— which by its very nature encourages people to insult, demean, or otherwise disparage the cosplayers and costumes in it (verging on out and out cyberbulling)— but does so by reposting the cosplay photos without the permission of, or credit to, the original photographers OR the people who are in the photos.
When this fact was brought to their attention, by way of a couple of the cosplayers in the photos asking for the photos of them to be removed from this album, not only did this “business” not apologize and comply, but they defended themselves by suggesting that because they "found them on google” that meant that the photos were “essentially in the public domain.” This response is as arrogant as it is incorrect and only adds to the outrageousness of this entire situation. As has been said elsewhere, “If you have a picture up of someone and they express concerns, the appropriate thing to do is take it down and apologize.” this applies doubly so if you are operating as a business and not just a private individual!
This behavior is not only morally dubious and abhorrent, but it is also utterly unprofessional and I also feel the need to add that it’s legally dubious as well. So please, if you live, work-in, or visit the Chicago area BOYCOTT Alternate Reality-Comicbooks. We as fans and consumers need to tell businesses that this type of behavior is not cute, it’s not okay and it’s NOT ACCEPTABLE.
The first time I ever saw a hockey game, I saw Boller drop the gloves and go and I was hooked on hockey! He’s hard noised, hard playing and not afraid to drop the gloves with anyone who wants to challenge, but he’s also proved recently that he has disciplined and is more than just a boxer on ice. He’s jovial, adorable and just plain fun to watch!
Lil’ Matty as I like to call him just has talent shooting out of his every pour and I can’t wait to see him really develop in the next couple of seasons! I foresee at least an ‘A’ in this kids near future.
(Can't reply to replies... *sigh*) I will concede that the shiny fabric (?) is a poor choice and makes it look cheap. If the colors were flat and the blue a bit darker, I'd be even happier with it. Maybe I was just thinking how much more horrible it COULD have been, it's better than I was hoping/expecting, so I guess that's why I like it so much!
Thanks for your comments and support as always!
Yeah, that’s sort of my point. People can seem to see past the piss poor fabric choice to see that it’s actually a good, solid design. It’s the execution of it that sucks.
I would love to see the design done in a stretch leather or even regular spandex with RED (flat) boots.
Adrianne Palicki in the Wonder Woman costume. As I said in this morning’s post, there was no way she was wearing the bathing suit. And that people may be even uglier than the current one. And she’s in heels. Yikes.
I’m not keen on the blue boots or the weird fabric choice, but overall (and prepare to be shocked) I LIKE IT! If they were to change her comic costume to this (or something close to it) I could live with it.
You know, like enough that if the show was any good I might add it to my to do costume list.
Dan Didio just confirmed at the DC Live panel at C2E2 that Wonder Woman will stay in the Jim Lee costume at the conclusion of the controversial JMS “Odyssey” arc.
When asked if Wonder Woman would be “keeping the pants on”, he answered “Figuratively or Literally? Literally” He then asked who like…
Well, I think we all know how I feel about this news. I seriously HATE the current redesign like it’s my job. What I don’t understand even more is why DC refuses to understand that going back to the star spangled panties or staying the Jim Lee shit AREN’T THE ONLY OPTIONS! Redesign the costume AGAIN and put Diana in something that actual WORKS!
I’m not kidding, or exaggeration when I say that keeping her in the Jim Lee costume WILL effect whether or not I continue to read Wonder Woman. I’ve already stopped because of EVERYTHING about the JMS reboot so it won’t be too hard to keep not reading it. This makes me sad and RAGEY.
I understand the necessities and reason behind not going with the classic costume, but I DESPISE the “All New Wonder Woman’s” costume. I mean seriously loath it with a burning passion. Nothing about the “new costume” says Diana or Wonder Woman. Period. Top that with the fact that it’s DATED, I’m talking early 90s at best here folks and pants aside COMPLETELY FLAWED AND IMPRACTICAL FOR A WARRIOR! I mean WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK IS UP WITH THE TOP AND THOSE STRAPS?! Do you have any idea how horribly that would restrict range of motion? And on her sword arm?! Please. Just no.
I REALLY hope they redesigned the redesign and DON’T do black at all. While she doesn’t need to look like the star spangled bootie banner, Wonder Woman (Diana) NEEDS those iconic colors, even if they’re toned down/darken.
Not that I think it will matter much in the grand scheme as I don’t foresee this show lasting much past 4 or 5 episodes. Honestly, at this point, with what I’ve seen and heard, etc so far I’m sort of hoping for a quick death anyway.
