On July 25th, my friends and I were walking down the street towards some place to have lunch during the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2014. A man stops us, asking my cosplayer friend to do a quick interview for his documentary on cosplaying. Which is a common project for filmmakers who attend the…
This shit is NOT funny and it’s NOT okay. I wish SDCC would take this shit seriously (because at the moment it doesn’t). This man should be banned from future Cons and should NEVER be allowed press credentials anywhere.
So my friend Maya is making a short fan-film about Storm, her favorite Marvel mutant. She did a Kickstarter last fall to fund it, but filmmaking in Austin is a double-edged sword — you can get super amazing folks to work on it, but it tends to cost more than a home movie. She’s doing another push to get the last remaining funds to make the special effects and production value as high as a she can. The intro video has a bunch of clips of the demos they’ve made so far, and I AM BLOWN AWAY. Maya has assembled a fantastic team for this, and it’s going to be an awesome movie. Please contribute whatever you can! She’s got great rewards and it’s going to be AMAZING.
Reminder that you’ve only got 10 days left to help fund this fan film!
This looks so cool! It’s being done here in Austin and she’s half way there. I mean, c’mon if Tumblr can shell out $17,000 in an hour for a ball pit…
I literally scrolled past this and then scrolled back up real quick to reblog because I finally understood the joke.
I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND
i’M LAUGHING SO HARD
I love the History side of Tumblr
(For those that don’t understand) We all have 23 pairs of chromosomes. 1 of those pairs determines your gender. For a woman, the pair is made up of two X chromosomes. For a man, the pair is made up of an X and Y chromosome.
When you are conceived you take 1 of each pair of chromosomes from each parent. You always inherit an X chromosome as your mother only has X chromosomes to offer. However, you can either inherit a Y or X chromosome from your father. If you inherit the X chromosome you are a girl and if you inherit the Y chromosome you are a boy.
So ultimately your father decides your gender. I know, even before you’re born, your father is making decisions on your future.
FOR THE LOVE OF…. chromosomes determine PHYSICAL SEX NOT GENDER.
